![]() ![]() Proximity backflips and proximity Wingsuit flights drive up your score, too. ![]() You can earn bonus points from landing tricks while you’re operating close to the ground. Rolling hills are a great place to sneak in a quick backflip. The BASE related recos are very aggressive, in my opinion. The wingsuit recommendation of 200 jumps is totally fair - I did my first WS jumps at 201! Wingsuit BASE - generally 100+ BASE jumps, but this varies a lot Wingsuit skydiving (from plane only) - 200 skydives They call training a non skydiver to BASE jump a “death camp.” I would not recommend trying even basic BASE jumping without a wingsuit to someone who has never made a skydive - but plenty of people have done this and it’s usually fine for a few jumps. It’s straightforward and somewhat intuitive, plus you have some opportunities as you descend under the parachute to practice the approach and flare.Įxit (transitioning from standing on earth to falling and flying the suit) would be the hardest part, and my guess is 75+% of people would fuck it up immediately and fail to recover - impacting the object they just jumped from. I’d say that an athletic, body aware person with no experience skydiving has a chance of surviving a wingsuit BASE jump if they’re given a five minute breakdown on exit, flight, deployment, transition from wingsuit to parachute flight, and landing. But they have experience in body flight already, plus comfort in the overall environment of skydiving. I’ve taught a few wingsuit courses, and experienced skydivers pick up exiting the airplane and basic, stable flight pretty quickly most of the time. I don’t think anyone has good data to point to in order to make an educated call on this. ![]()
